Welcome to the 2016 WizKids Open: A series of officially sponsored regional gaming events by WizKids!

Prepare to do fearsome battle in the Regional Championships for HeroClix, Dice Masters, and Attack Wing, plus many other events!

The 2016 WizKids Open events will take place at nine friendly local game stores across the United States (see below for complete listings), as well as FLGS across Canada, Europe, and Latin America!

Play amazing games, win rare prizes, and support local game stores at some of the biggest WizKids gaming events of the year!

Know someone that may be itching to learn and play HeroClix and/or Dice Masters? Bring them with you to the upcoming WizKids Open 2016 events! We are excited to announce that we’re loading stores up with some extra HeroClix Fast Forces and Dice Masters Starters so they can demo the games to your friends.

That’s not all! If your friend participates in a WizKids Open HeroClix/Dice Masters Regional Championship or side event, they will be able to keep the Fast Forces and/or Starter Pack as a gift for entering their first event!

But wait, there’s more! If your friend enters any event at the WizKids Open, you will also be rewarded with a snazzy Avengers ID card (Captain Marvel, Sentry, Swordsman, or Tigra) for bringing your friend! Limit one per person.

Please note that supplies are limited and will be distributed on a first-come-first-served basis.  If you plan on bringing some new friends to the event, please notify your FLGS by RSVPing for them when you register for events.

HEROCLIX REGIONAL CHAMPIONSHIP

Event Entry Fee: $30 (includes two booster packs for sealed play)

Format: 300-Point Sealed: Players who advance to the Top 8 will be provided with two new booster packs free of charge. Players will use these new boosters to construct a new 300-Point Sealed team using only game elements contained in the new booster packs. This new team will be used for all single-elimination rounds.

Pairing Structure: Multiple Swiss Rounds followed by a Single-Elimination Top 8 Cut

STAR TREK: ATTACK WING REGIONAL CHAMPIONSHIP

Event Entry Fee: $15 (includes one blind reinforcement booster)

Format: 130 SP Semi-Constructed – The starting Fleet Build is 90 SP. Players will receive 1 random Reinforcement Booster and may add up to 40 SP from it (including the ship and/or any Captain or Upgrade Cards) to their 90 SP Fleet Build bringing the total Fleet Build to 130 SP. No scenario rules will be in play.

HEROCLIX BATTLE ROYALE 

  • Player Cap: 4 Players per Battle Royale
  • Entry Fee: $15 (Each player receives one booster pack for Battle Royale play)
  • Format: Sealed Draft, No point limit, 3 action limit
  • Prize Structure*:
    • All booster contents are placed in the center of the map to create a prize pool. A 2015 Marvel or DC Comics HeroClix Convention Exclusive Prize Figure and 3 Avengers ID Cards are added to the prize pool. All players snake draft from the prize pool in order of placement in the game.

DICE MASTERS QUICK PLAY

  • Player Cap: 8 Players per Quick Play
  • Entry Fee: $10
  • Format: Unlimited Constructed
  • Pairing Structure: Single-Elimination: Each Quick Play event is comprised of a single one-game match. The winner of the each of the matches receives a promo OP kit card.

SIDE EVENT CHALLENGE

The Side Event Challenge rewards players for playing in multiple side events throughout the weekend by offering a high value prize to the players who earn the most side event points each day and across the entire WizKids Open. Each game (i.e. HeroClix, Dice Masters, etc.) will have its own prizing that can only be earned by playing events for that game (i.e. Battle Royale for HeroClix, Rainbow Draft for Dice Masters, etc.). Every time a player enters and plays in a side event they will accumulate points towards winning awesome prizes as outlined below.

PRIZES

Each day the player who has scored the most side event points for that day (HeroClix and Dice Masters are tracked separately), is awarded the daily prize for whichever game they had the most points. Additionally, at the conclusion of the WizKids Open, the top three players who have scored the most side event points across the entirety of the WizKids Open earn the Gold, Silver, or Bronze Grand Prize depending on their placement.
