Marvel and YuGiOh Dice Masters uses a number of different keywords for functionally similar, or identical, game mechanics - should these keywords be treated as wholly interchangeable or entirely separate and different?

For example, should Human Torch Johnny Storm's ability when one Summons a Monster, as opposed to Fielding a Character?

For your example, yes Johnny Storm's ability would trigger when one Summons a Monster as if they had fielded a character. Character dice and monster dice are interchangeable. Sidekicks in the Field Zone count as Monsters and Characters.
