The Blue Dragon - Lesser Dragon card has the following text:

"While active, whenever you use an action die's ability, deal 1 damage to all characters."

What is considered an action die's ability?

A - Is it the main text on the action die, like Magic Missile's ability to deal 2 damage to a target? So, when you play the Magic Missile action die, that is using the ability?

Or

B - Is it the global ability that is on some basic action dice, like Resurrection's global ability to use a [shield] to draw a die, and place it in the prep area?

Or

C - Is it both of the above, and happens when you either play an action die, or use a global ability on an action die?

I am confused because if it is just "A" above, then a clearer wording would be "when you use an action die..."
