Faked messages and Kemocite

Faked messages changes the meneuver of the target ship to a 1 straight. Is it changing it's dial or overriding it?
If it is changing the dial to a 1 straight, can Kemocite be used to make it a 3 straight.

It is overriding it so Kemocite cannot be used with Faked Messages.

Follow-up: do cards like lure and faked messages then flip your dial when they are used? In which case no card that says after you reveal your maneuver may be used? The cards themselves never mention the dial is flipped, just that it is changed to a new maneuver.
So no movement altering card is defence to a lure followed by faked messages to put you off the board?

Kemocite can be used with Lure but not with Faked Messages.
Kemocite does not change the dial and instead alters the maneuver you reveal before you perform it.
