When do you apply the damage to the shields.

Attack Patten Shinzon Theta states "During the Deal Damage step of the Combat Phase, if you hit your opponents ship. you may discard this card to add 1 additional damage to that ship's shields (if possible) for every uncalled critical result".

So my question is when do you apply the damage to the shield before or after you initial damage?

Let us say for example that a ship has 3 shields and you have 3 uncancelled criticals and 1 damage.

Does this mean that those 3 uncancelled criticals all become 1 damage and are immediately applied to the shield and the initial 3 criticals and the 1 damage are then applied to the hull?

When using Attack Patten Shinzon Theta the additonal damage happens after the normal hits are applied, but before critical damage is applied.

IE. You would roll your attack dice. Your target would roll defense dice. During the Deal Damage step of the Combat Phase you would apply your damage to the target ship. After applying damage, but before applying critical damage you may discard this card to add damage equal to the number of uncanceled critical hits remaining. Then apply the additional damage before applying the critical damage to your target.

What if the opponent has no shields, would you then apply that extra damage to the hull?

If the opponent has no shields left the remaining Critical Hits would hit the Hull. The additional damage from the Elite Talent may only be applied to the target ship's shields and has no effect against the target's Hull.
