wave 9 - ISS Defiant - Strafing Run

Strafing Run - ACTION: If you performed a Maneuver with a number of 3 or greater this round, target an enemy ship within Range 1-3 that is not in your firing arc. Discard this card to immediately make 1 free attack against that ship with 4 attack dine. Treat this attack is if it were fired with a primary weapon."

Does not specify a forward or rear arc does that mean not within either? Because it references firing arc (but not forward or rear) it is unusable on a 360 ship? The wording 'primary weapon' indicates the attack would be subject to range dice modifications?

Read the card as only working outside of the forward firing arc. The upgrade does not work on a ship with a 360 arc. Attacks with Strafing Run would be subject to range modifications.

Seeing as how this attack happens during the "activation phase" do these apply

Do cloaked ships get their +4 dice for defense? Since the +4 is during the combat phase only.

If the strafing ship has a target lock, may it use it for a reroll?

Cloaked ships do not get their +4 dice for defense since the attack is outside of the Combat Phase, but the defender still may roll defense dice.
Tokens may not be spent to modify attack dice or defense dice when attacking outside of the Combat Phase.

If a ship has attack modification upgrades that trigger off of tokens, but do not require the token to be spent, can those upgrades' abilities be used during a Strafing Run? For example, can Mr. Spock convert battlestations into hits if the attacking ship has a scan token next to it?

"If your ship has a (Scan) Token beside it when you attack, you may convert all your (Battle Stations) results into (Hit) results."

Yes, any abilities that do not state they only work during the combat phase would be available to modify the dice when attacking outside of the combat phase.
