Faked messages and Kemocite

Faked messages changes the meneuver of the target ship to a 1 straight. Is it changing it's dial or overriding it?

If it is changing the dial to a 1 straight, can Kemocite be used to make it a 3 straight.

Faked Messages overrides the dial and changes it to a 1 straight. Kemocite only triggers of of a maneuver being revealed and only alters the revealed maneuver.
