POSTING GUIDELINES

We wish to answer your rules questions to the best of our ability—in order to help us do so, we ask that when you post a question for the rules team to answer that you follow the following guidelines. These guidelines are meant to help ensure that your question will be easy to understand by the Rules Team, and your question (and the response from the Rules Team) will be easy to find by other users who are searching for an answer to the same question.

Please note: Posts are not visible to the public until a Moderator approves the post. Failure to adhere to these Posting Guidelines will result in your post being disapproved. Moderators also reserve the right to edit a post prior to approving a post.

1. The Rules Forum is for Rules Questions only: Please keep your questions focused on rules questions for specific game element interactions. Vague questions, "what if?" questions, or broad questions will not be approved. You must provide a specific rules interaction question. Posts for game or rules change requests, errata requests/suggestions, design intent questions, or any other non-specific, non-rules related discussion will not be approved.

2. Before posting a question, please use the search function to see if your question, or a similar question, has not already been asked. Also, please check if an errata or a clarification for the effect in question has not been posted. Duplicate questions, or questions answered by an errata/clarification will not be approved.

3. Please limit your post to a question relating to one specific issue/interaction with one or more game elements. If you have multiple questions on multiple different game elements, please submit a different post for each. This includes follow up posts. If your follow up question introduces a new game element/effect not mentioned in the original question, or your question has nothing to do with the topic subject, then you must submit the question in a new thread.

4. FOR GENERAL RULE QUESTIONS: In order to help all HeroClix players find the response to your question, please format subject titles for general questions with the specific standard power/ability you are questioning.

5. FOR RULES QUESTIONS ON A SPECIFIC GAME ELEMENT: In order to help all HeroClix players find the response to your question, please format your subject titles so that it references the main game element when asking a question about that specific game element. The preferred format is as follows: Set name or Abbreviation, Set number, Game Element name.

6. When posting a question about a specific rule, power, special power or other game effect, all relevant rules and effects that apply to the question must be quoted. Please be sure that your quoting of the rules and/or effects is accurate to the current rules (quoting of old rules will not be approved) and/or effects as printed in the rulebook, character card, etc. (i.e. please do not quote from memory). Please also quote the entire game effect and not just a single part of an effect. This includes quoting standard powers/combat abilities granted by a special power or ability if the question involves those standard powers/combat abilities. If your question involves a specific map, you must provide an image of the map for reference (actual map image and not a generated image).

7. Questions regarding game elements that are not in Modern or Silver Age will not be approved. If your question involves game elements only legal in Silver Age, or how they interact with the specific tournament rules of Silver Age, please include SILVER AGE at the end of your post's title. If your question involves game elements outside of Modern or Silver Age, please check with your local venue/judge.

8. We will not answer questions about tournament play. Any questions on tournament rules or protocol must be answered by the head judge of the event. We will also not answer questions on how a venue should run local events (including Organized Play events). Venues are free to run events as they see fit. Organized Play events are suggested formats and do not have to be run according to the suggested format unless specified otherwise.

9. With the new rules changes, some game elements using game effects from older rules no longer function as originally designed. If the game element has not received an errata or clarification, then that game element is played using the new rules and any references to older rules no longer apply. Note that game elements that have not received an errata DO NOT have their current wording updated to new rules wording. They are still to be played using their current wording.
