Thanos "infinite" and Infinity counters per turn

Thanos "infinite"

Whenever one of your Villian characters deals combat damage to your opponent, place an "infinity counter" on Thanos. Thanos purchase cost 2 less per infinity counter.

Can you place multiple Infinity counters on Thanos "infinite" during the same turn.

Here is a scenario:
Falcon "recon"

"When Falcon attacks, your Sidekicks Cannot be blocked"

Falcon and 4 sidekicks are fielded have falcon is set to attack along with the side kicks and they are unblockable.

I then use the global ability on the Basic Acton Card Takedown of the sidekicks before damage is delt
Take Down

"Global: Pay 1 mask, Target Character Gain Villain affiliation until end of turn

Does this mean:

1) I place 4 counters of Thanos
2) I only place 1 counter are the damage is grouped but the opponent still take 4 damage from the sideckicks

To start with, you may place multiple Infinity Counters on Thanos in a single turn.

To be clear, when using Takedown's Global Ability you would need to use it once on each of the Sidekick dice for him to gain 4 counters.
