So if I have 5 other different Batman Family characters out, would that make him free or would I still have to pay 1 mask to field him?

This earlier ruling applies:

For Blue Eyes White Dragon's Global Ability, it may not make a die free to purchase. No game effects may make a die's purchase cost free or 0 unless they specifically say so. If you were to reduce a 2 cost Shield monster's cost by 2, you'd still need to pay 1 Shield to purchase it.
