Lantern Power Ring - Flight

Lantern Power Ring - Flight is phrased oddly, it states "add one die from your bag to your prep area.

Do you get to choose one die or are you drawing one die - and if you are drawing does it count as drawing for the purposes of Magneto - Hellfire club?

No and yes.

A player may only search his or her bag and select what dice to remove when a card expressly says that he or she may do so. Examples of such cards include Doctor Strange – Probably A Charlatan (“When fielded, search your bag for an action die and roll it (place it into your reserve pool).”) and Limited Wish – Paragon Spell (“Search your bag for a character die and field it on its level 1 side.”). For all other cards, when a player is to, for example, “add” “put” or “pull” die from the bag to place them in a different play area, the bag should be shaken and the die drawn at random. Examples of such cards include Thousand Dragon – Inferno Flame Breath (“When summoned, put two dice from your bag to your prep area.”) and Sangan – Sacrificial Fiend (“When this monster gets knocked out, you may pull two dice from your bag. If both are monsters, put them into your prep area; otherwise return them to your bag.”). As Lantern Power Ring – Flight does not expressly instruct a player to search his or her bag for specific die, a player using its ability must draw the relevant die at random from his or her bag.

Based on the answer to your first question, it is clear that the use of Lantern Power Ring – Flight (assuming you have more characters than your opponent) would result in drawing die and, as a result, Magneto – Hellfire Club would deal two damage to your opponent if he or she had no Villains in the field.

The relevant text from the cards and rulebook is as follows:

Lantern Power Ring - Flight:
For each character you have in excess of your opponent, add one die to your Prep Area from your bag.

Magneto – Hellfire Club:
While Magneto is active, if your opponent has no Villains in the field, he takes 2 damage each time he draws one or more dice from his bag.

Tournament Rule 1.2.8 (http://wizkids.com/dicemasters/tournament-rules/):
Dice Bags: Players may look into their own dice bag, but not their opponent’s. They must mix their dice well before drawing.

DC Dice Masters: Justice League Rulebook Page 5:
If your bag is ever empty, and you need to draw a die, move all dice from your used pile into your bag and shake it well to mix the dice thoroughly.
